Treport old ruins walls

The protected area of the Treporti Castle and the ancient sea wall It is located west of the Narte lagoon, near the village of Zverrnec. The castle of Treporti and the ancient ruins in the sea are cultural monuments of the first category. Treporti was an important port that connected the city with other ancient centers such as Aulona, Apollonia, Oriku and Amantia. Archaeological research shows the use of the territory of Treport from the ancient stone periods (Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic). The settlement is located on the hill called Pllake. Archaeological excavations in the ruins of Treport before the 90s revealed not only traces of the ancient city but also those of a prehistoric fortified settlement.
