B&B Abete Rosso - La Cucina di Luciana

My name is Luciana, I live in Bologna where I was born more than 50 years ago by a family from Bologna doc for generations.


As a child I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandmother, Bolognese doc for generations. In fact, she has passed on to me the passion for Bolognese home cooking, made above all of simple and economic things. Grandma Fernanda used to wake me up at 6:00 for years while tapping the fork on the cutting board to mix eggs and flour and prepare the dough. That’s why, when I was only 10 years old, I made my first puff.

Six senses
So I spent my childhood developing all six senses in the kitchen at home.
First of all, the scent of sauté, cakes and all the delicacies of the tradition. Then the noises, which are related to memories become music. The colors of the food, for example the colorful combinations with fruits and vegetables. Touch again, that is to touch the various soft, soft and grainy flours, or the thorns of the vegetables, or the warm and elastic mixtures. Then the flavors, at first distinct, such as sweet and salty, sour and bitter, and then arrive at the harmony of combinations.


And finally, the last but most important: the sixth sense related to the joy I felt from the mixture of the other five.

Cooking classes in Bologna: my passion from hobby to work
The passion for cooking has been my life partner and has evolved, along with me, over time. First he accompanied me as a means for evenings with friends, then as a tool to feed the family, until it became a job.
In recent years I first managed a farm, then a restaurant, to last to hold home cooking classes to tourists from all over the world passionate about our recipes.

So I found out that I not only like to cook but also teach.
Being able to pass on my experience and passion to people through cooking classes gives me satisfaction and joy.


So I decided to open my country house where I raise hens and ducks in the wild, and also bees for the pleasure of seeing them fly on flowers. Here I also grow a vegetable garden and a small orchard with simple elements of biodynamic agriculture, because for me and my friends I want only the best. I like being able to share with those who want to come and visit not only my knowledge but also the pleasure of being in the countryside. Right in the countryside, precisely on the hills between Casalecchio and Zola Predosa, stands the B&B Abete Rosso, of which I am the owner. Surrounded by greenery but at the same time a few kilometers from the center of Bologna, it is the ideal location to breathe the scents and taste the flavors of tradition that make us so famous in the world. I found that I don’t just like cooking but also teaching. Thanks to my cooking classes in Bologna I can pass on to people my experience and my passion, with great joy and satisfaction. And not only that: I love being able to share the pleasure of conviviality and being in the middle of nature and silence. I am in fact the owner of the B&B Abete Rosso, a recently renovated villa immersed in the green hills between Casalecchio and Zola Predosa. Here I breed hens, ducks and bees and I also grow a vegetable garden and a small orchard. An ideal location for my cooking classes in Bologna, in fact we are located a few kilometers from the historic center. Alternatively, I am available to move to your office to hold lessons directly with you. At the end of each lesson there will be lunch or dinner, in which we can enjoy together the result of our work. To each participant I will finally release the handouts with all the recipes of the course.


Finally, I can teach cooking classes in English and French. My kitchen is therefore open to tourists from all over the world, but also to foreign customers visiting companies, who want to entertain themselves for a few hours of leisure.
