Divna Beach

Ten kilometers from Trpanj, one of the oldest places on the Pelješac peninsula, a winding narrow asphalted road leads to a beach that definitely lives up to its name - Divna (meaning „beautiful“) beach. The very surroundings of the beach leave you breathless, because Divna is located among dense forest and the slopes of high mountains. The local population will advise visitors to get to Divna by bike or on foot, because there are unfortunately very few parking spaces, which actually fits this Robinson-style beach. Divna enchants with its turquoise blue sea, and in contrast with the light gravel and sand, forest and cliffs, it enchants at first sight and is permanently etched in memory. This is probably why it is called the Croatian Caribbean.

The sea is extremely shallow, clean, warm and perfect for a family vacation with children on the beach. However, despite the proximity of the forest and high cliffs, there is very little natural shade on Divna beach, so you need to pay extra attention to adequate protection from the sun, especially if you plan to stay on the beach all day. The pristine nature invites exploration, and every host will recommend exploring the underwater life by diving, especially the part between the beach and the small island facing the bay.

Although Divna beach has become a mandatory destination for one-day visitors from Trpanj in recent years, for a somewhat longer stay in the vicinity of Divna, it is possible to look for accommodation among private accommodation facilities intended for rent. For those looking for a real adventure experience, there is a camp of the same name near the Divna beach. In accordance with the natural environment in which it is located, apart from the shade of a dense olive tree, the camp offers only the basics: electricity, sanitary facilities with showers and toilets, and the camp guests also have refrigerators and a communal barbecue. During the main season, fresh bread and local fruits and vegetables are brought to the camp every day, and fish can be ordered from the owner for a complete experience of Dalmatia and everything it has to offer. For those who know how to enjoy true peace by the sea, this is a true paradise on Earth.

Fun fact: Divna Beach on Pelješac, along with Krivica Beach on Lošinj and Mlina on the Hell Islands near Hvar, was on the Guardian's list of the most beautiful Croatian beaches.
