Located in a strategic position controlling the Isonzo valleys and the hills of Collio, the abbey dates back to ancient times and is still relatively unknown. Affected by the numerous wars that took place in the territory during the Middle Ages, it was entirely rebuilt in the sixteenth century in the structure that is still largely recognizable today. The cloister of the convent and the abbey church are sometimes used for concerts.
