Trieste - Tripcovich Hall

Located at the entrance to the city and originally designed in 1935 as a bus station, Tripcovich Hall was converted into a theatre and music hall in 1992. With more than 900 seats, good visibility, and excellent acoustics, it has hosted several performances of operas, operettas, and musicals over the years. The name Tripcovich is that of the Trieste-based society of shipowners that had allowed its restoration and of which Raffaello de Banfield was a member, to whom the hall was dedicated in 2008. Decommissioned for years, the Tripcovich Hall is the object of a demolition project for the redevelopment of Piazza Libertà, which it overlooks.
