Nightlife and Clubs

Nightlife on Pelješac and the Dubrovnik coast

Despite the newly built Pelješac bridge, the Pelješac peninsula is still a destination where visitors are primarily looking for a break from busy everyday life, peace, relaxation and an active holiday in nature. Nevertheless, through the offer of beach bars, restaurants, taverns and clubs on the Pelješac peninsula and the Dubrovnik Primorje, visitors arriving in the very south of Croatia slowly become familiar with the habits of Dalmatians, that is, the obligatory drinking of coffee during the day. It is impossible to avoid this daily ritual of the local population, because almost at every turn you come across modern and traditional local cafes and bars that, in addition to the indispensable coffee, also offer a handful of creative cocktails, healthy natural drinks and snacks. It is characteristic of this area that most daytime bars and restaurants turn into nighttime bars and clubs with a heated atmosphere until the morning hours.

It is definitely recommended to visit Ston, Orebić, Trpanj, Viganj and local bars and cafes along the way, also hidden gems of Pelješac. Bars are a great choice for hanging out with friends. During the day, they are beach bars with a relaxing atmosphere where everyone will find refreshment for themselves after swimming in the sea, and after 10 p.m., most beach bars turn into a meeting place for those who want to have a night out. Lovers of different styles of music will easily recognize their favorite place to gather with good company, as many bars play different music every day. Thus, styles such as dub, break beat, techno, trance, psy, as well as live performances by well-known DJs and popular local performers will most likely change in one bar in ten days.

However, during the summer months, the traditional fishermen's festivals and celebrations of the patron saint's holiday will probably attract the most attention of visitors. Such manifestations are necessarily accompanied by a rich offer of local wines from autochthonous Pelješac varieties and gastronomic delicacies. It is at events like this that you can best experience the spirit and energy of the place, its people and their lifestyle. In addition to the traditional celebration with wine and food, bocce tournaments are often held during local events. Among the most interesting summer attractions are „Mornarske noći“ ("Sailor's Nights") and „Noć peljeških Jedera“ ("Night of the Pelješac Jedera") in Orebić, and during the whole summer almost every small place on Pelješac hosts traditional Fishermen's evenings.

Fun fact: In the immediate vicinity of the beach in Trpanj there is a night club located in the middle of the forest. Although it does not have parking spaces for cars because it is easy to get to from the nearby beach, it provides space for bicycles and boats, and the music is different every day.
