Prapratno Cove on Peljesac

Pelješac, as one of the largest peninsulas in Croatia, hides rarely seen natural beauties, but also cultural and historical landmarks, many of which have yet to be discovered. To get to this rugged destination with natural water sources and crystal clear sea, it used to be necessary to travel through neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina because of the Neum Bay, but with the completion of the Pelješac bridge in July 2022, access to Pelješac is much easier, faster and simpler. As a result, the Pelješac peninsula becomes more accessible to tourists and visitors who have yet to discover this pearl of the Adriatic.

Pelješac abounds in coves and beaches that provide an opportunity for a much-needed break from everyday life, so merging with nature is inevitable here. One of the coves that is still not massively visited and is therefore ideal for peace and rest is the Prapratno cove. The beach is located only three kilometers from the town of Ston. Passing through the forest of the same name leads to this long sandy beach, ideal for a quiet family vacation. The smell of a pine forest with a view of the clear and clean sea will undoubtedly enchant lovers of untouched nature. Deckchairs and umbrellas can be rented on the beach, and there are numerous activities available in addition to the children's playground. Pedal boats can be rented, and there are also volleyball, basketball, tennis and football courts nearby. In addition, there is an underwater archeological site at Prapratno bay, which invites you to dive and a unique opportunity to learn about the charms and beauties of diving and the marine ecosystem and associated biodiversity, especially the protected ones. Prapratno Bay is a perfect choice for families with children who are looking for peace, but also the possibility of an active vacation with adapted facilities, as well as for non-swimmers, thanks to the shallow sea.

Accommodation can be easily found in private accommodation facilities, and for those with an adventurous spirit, Prapratno bay also has a large car camp with 250 places with electrical connections and 3 modern sanitary facilities with hot and cold water, WiFi access for an additional fee, and it is also possible to rent a safe for storing valuables.

Fun fact: On Prapratno beach, even after 100 meters from the shore, it is possible to touch the sandy soil, and there is also a nudist beach near the camp.
