The PassoBarbasso Association aims to disseminate and practice walking not as a competitive activity but as a practice that creates well-being.

PassoBarbasso promotes walking with "slow rhythm", where the last one makes the step and as an opportunity for deep contact with nature, with oneself and with others; walking allows us to live our wildest part and rediscover our senses, through smells, flavors, sounds, colors and landscapes.

The excursions are supervised and guided by a guide, usually a voluntary member of the Association. We will walk in small groups to facilitate the exchange and knowledge among the participants, believing that individual differences can be a wealth for the group itself.

PassoBarbasso aims to enhance the "locality", characterized by culture, customs, flavors and products, opposed to globalization and homogenization prevailing.

The Association promotes the dissemination of issues related to walking, the environment and nature, paying particular attention to the culture of degrowth and solidarity and believing that changing one’s lifestyle can contribute to a project of global change.

To achieve its goals, the Association organizes hiking, even with the use of snowshoes.

The excursions must be carried out with the utmost respect for the environment, promoting the use, where possible, of public transport and car pooling and paying particular attention to natural, cultural and anthropological aspects, historical and artistic areas crossed.

PassoBarbasso can promote training activities through refresher and advanced training courses, the establishment of study and research groups with particular attention to "light wayfinding", safety aspects in mountain and natural environments, environmental education and the elaboration of new visions and practices of life, stimulating in the participants a reflection on the need to safeguard the environment.
