The concrete construction of this new bridge recalls the silhouette of the relocated Mortuary Bridge (Hradec Králové Bridge). In addition to the anatomical institute, a maternity hospital was built nearby in the late 1980s, after which the new bridge was given a more grateful name, the Maternal Bridge. The top plate is supported by a double supporting arch and a pair of towers. The double support arch contains utility lines that place a relatively demanding burden on the structure. The luminaires are a modern reinterpretation of Plečnik’s luminaires as originally presented.
