The medieval wooden bridge was replaced in the 19th century by a cast-iron bridge (Hradecki Bridge, 1867). As an important technological achievement, Plečnik moved it near the hospital. On the new bridge girder he placed a platform that acts as a square on the water surrounded by columns, both Corinthian and Ionic, which he transformed into lights.
