The bridge is intended for motor traffic and pedestrians. The wide pavements are paved with red bricks, which extend into the viewing balconies in the middle of the bridge, from where you can observe what is happening on the river.
Under the bridge, there are platforms that act as a kind of shelter, reflecting Plečnik’s idea that the path along the river should be
passable, as they allow passage from the sand ramps towards Špica or Trnovo Quay.
