Ancient Theater of Stratos

The ancient theater of Stratos is located a few kilometers outside the homonymous town of the Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania. It is built in the 4th century BC. on a low slope which is an excellent location, as it offers a unique view of the Acheloos river and the green landscape. Archaeological excavations carried out at the site revealed ruins related to the cavity and the orchestra, as well as remains of the stage and the foreground of the ancient theater. Today it is an important attraction for the area and is considered the largest surviving theater in Aitoloakarnania, as it is estimated that in the past it had a capacity of about 7,000 people. This point of interest is Plain and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
