Venetian Castle of Plagia

The Venetian castle of Plagia with the name Agios Georgios is located at a distance of about 1 km southwest of the homonymous settlement. The impressive castle is located on a low verdant hill with a unique sea view and since 1998 has been declared a protected monument. It was built at the beginning of the 19th century and was the base of Ali Pasha in his attempt to conquer Lefkada in 1807. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. Visitable hours: Free access.
