Village

Drepano

Drepano (old name: Drapano) is a settlement located on the homonymous cape and is 4 km away from Rio. The area has been inhabited since antiquity and, according to Pausanias, at the site there was the ancient city of Volina and the Wall of Athena, which was the border between Patras and the country of Rpaia. Its name is preserved from antiquity and is due to the shape of the cape that looks like a scythe. In 1941, the German air force bombed eight coastal settlements south of Patras eight times, including Drepano. This point of interest is Plain and Urban. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
