Psathopyrgos 

Psathopyrgos is a seaside settlement of Achaia and the seat of the homonymous local community that belongs to the Municipal Unit of Rio of the Municipality of Patras. It is about 20 kilometers northeast of the city of Patras and borders the villages of Kato Rodini, Drepano and Arachovitika. According to the 2011 census, the permanent residents’ number amounts to 663. Traces of habitation have been found since antiquity, while due to its natural port, it played an important role in the wars. In the Middle Ages it was called Pyrgos, from the ruins of an ancient tower that survived there. This point of interest is Coastal and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round.
