Fortress of Rio

The Castle of Rio, also known as Kastelli of Patras or Kastelli of Moria, is located by the sea in the area of ​​Rio. It was built in 1499 by Sultan Vayazil II on the ruins of an ancient temple of Poseidon. It has two gates, the main and the sea, and on one side it is surrounded by a wide moat with sea water as it joins the sea that surrounds the rest of the castle.
