Municipal Theatre "Apollon"

The Municipal Theater Apollo is an impressive neoclassical building and is located on the northeast side of George I Square. It is the work of the architect Ernest Ziller, whose construction began in 1871 and was completed in 1872. It is a miniature of the La Scala in Milan and the oldest surviving indoor theater of modern times. It is one of the three neoclassical theaters that survive in Greece and is considered an architectural gem for the city of Patras. Its spaces are used for many cultural events as well as for the bubbles during the Patras Carnival. This point of interest is Plain and Urban. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round.
