Palaio Arsakeio of Patras

The Old Arsakeio of Patras is an imposing three-storey building in the shape of P with a very well-kept courtyard and the characteristic two tall palm trees at the entrance, which is located in the city center. The request for its construction concerned the decent housing of the apprenticeship of young girls and the foundation stone was laid in 1929. The use of the building was changed during the unrest caused by the Italian and German invasions in Greece. In 1945 the building reopened as an educational institution until 2004, when it was transferred to a privately owned school complex in Platani, Rio. The old building is now under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Patras and is often used for various cultural events. This point of interest is Plain and Urban. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
