Salmoni

Salmoni is a lowland village in the prefecture of Ileia. It is about 9 km from Pyrgos and just a few meters from the river Alfeios. During the years of Ottoman rule, the village was named Koukoura after the Turkish commander Koukur Aga. In 2011, it consisted of 612 permanent residents and their main occupation is the cultivation, mainly, of oranges and olives. This point of interest is Plain and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport.
