Koliri

Koliri is a lowland village located in the prefecture of Ilia, at an altitude of 90 meters. It is about 4 km northeast of the city of Pyrgos and according to the 2011 census consists of 621 inhabitants. Its foundation dates back to a few decades before the revolution of 1821, while its name came from Kolyria, a species of bird that lived in the area. The settlement has the parish church of Agios Theodoros, as well as the cemetery church that is dedicated to Agios Nikolaos. In the courtyard of the Primary School there are three tombstones, which mention the names of residents who took part in wars and died defending the homeland. This point of interest is Plain and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
