Kastro Goumerou

Goumeros Castle is located in the northern part of the homonymous village of the Prefecture of Ileia. These are the remains of a medieval castle, probably a Frankish one, which exist on a low hill of mountainous Ilia. According to research descriptions, the castle had a total area of ​​about 200 square meters and was narrow and long with a length of 600 meters and a width ranging from 8 to 10 meters on the southeast side, up to 50 meters on the northeast. Following excavations at the site, traces of a tower have been found on the east side, as well as traces of buildings and tanks inside the fortification. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
