Archaeological Museum of Pyrgos

The Archaeological Museum of Pyrgos is housed in a neoclassical building, dating to the late 19th century and is probably the work of architect Ernesto Ziller. The building has a total area of ​​3,168 square meters and consists of a basement, ground floor with two patios and a floor in the central part. In the basement of the south wing there is an event hall, on the ground floor the main exhibition spaces are formed, while on the floor of the central part is the main entrance of the Museum, as well as a small library. The Museum that dominates the city center, opened its gates to the public in 2013 and includes 1,700 exhibits, relating to all the historical periods of the entire Regional Unit of Ileia. In addition, in his collection he has several remarkable objects, which tell the history of the Prefecture from prehistoric to post-Byzantine years. This point of interest is Plain and Urban.
