Stanos

Stanos is a traditional settlement and is located west of Lake Amvrakia, on the slopes of a hill. It is considered that it was built on its current location in 1833 after the movement of the inhabitants from the northern area and that the name is due to the many herds of cattle breeders that existed there. An important attraction is the church of Agia Paraskevi which was built in 1550 on the slopes of Mount Petalas. This point of interest is Plain and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. https://www.facebook.com/%CE%A3%CF%84%CE%B1%CE%BD%CE%BF%CF%82-%CE%92%CE%B1%CE%BB%CF%84%CE%BF%CF%85-%CE%91%CE%B9%CF%84%CE%BD%CE%B9%CE%B1%CF%82-465947960107936/ Source of photographic material: Facebook website: Stanos of Valtos Aitoloakarnanias.
