Nea Malesiada

Nea Malesiada (old name: Malesiada) is a semi-mountainous settlement located in the northeast of the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania, near the border with the prefecture of Evritania, at a height of 185 meters. The name of the settlement is due to the family of the fighter of the Revolution of 1821 Stamoulis Malesiadas, who fell heroically in the battle of Plaka. His son Nicholas followed in his father's footsteps and took part in several battles of the Struggle.
