Wetland of the Amvrakikos Gulf

Amvrakikos gulf has an area of ​​400 square kilometers and is one of the largest closed gulfs in Greece. It is considered an important wetland of international interest, which extends between the estuaries of the rivers Louros and Arachthos. It has reedbeds, salt marshes and lagoons, where various animals find shelter, such as sea turtles, dolphins and skates, while it is a breeding and migration place for about 280 species of waterfowl and birds of prey.
