Zaxaro is a small town on the southwest side of the Prefecture of Ileia and is the capital of the homonymous Municipality. It is 30 km from Pyrgos and 24 km from Olympia. The patron saint of the city is Agios Spyridon, who celebrates on December 12, a local holiday. It is located very close to the shores of the Gulf of Kyparissia, while through it crosses the National Road that connects Patras with Kalamata. It has a health center, a police station, a courthouse and a train station, while it consists of 5,407 inhabitants according to the 2011 census. This point of interest is Plain and Urban.
