Ancient city of Aipi

The ruins of the ancient city of Aipi are located at the eastern end of Mount Lapitha along a rocky steep ridge, north of the village of Paleochori and at a distance of about 3 km from the settlement of Makistos. In ancient times, this naturally fortified position was of particular strategic importance. Today, parts of the ancient citadel wall and defensive fortifications, a large tank, ruins of ancient houses and temples, as well as remains of the theater and the market are preserved. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
