Archaeological site of Lepreo

The archeological site of Lepreo is located on the hills of the western ends of Mount Minthi, above the current homonymous community. The location of the ancient city was of great strategic importance, as it allowed it to control the land roads that connected Ileia, Messinia and Arcadia. According to archeological excavations, ruins of a temple of classical times have been found, which is attributed to the goddess Demeter, remains of houses, as well as ruins of tombs of various kinds, which date from archaic to Roman times. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. Visiting hours: Outdoor areas.
