Myronia

Myronia is a picturesque mountain village in the prefecture of Ileia, which is built at an altitude of 690 meters. It is located at the northwestern foot of Mount Minthi, in an area overgrown with walnuts, olives and mulberries, while it is about 18 km from Andritsaina. The existence of the settlement dates back to the beginning of the 17th century, with the name Barzelli, which means hard land. Its current name Myronia is due to the fragrant herb myronia, which grows richly in the area. It has two traditional watermills, several natural springs with plenty of cold water, as well as the building owned by G. Zafeiraki, which has been designated as a historic monument.
