Dafnoula (Bartzi)

Dafnoula is a semi-mountainous settlement in the prefecture of Ileia, which is 18 km away from Andritsaina. On the west side of the village flows the Tselechovitiko stream, while on the left side passes the Rogozitiko stream. These two streams end after a few meters in the Alfeios river. It is a green village that is mentioned from the time of the Orlofika, while in the place Mavrorema traces of habitation have been found, such as Roman baths and Byzantine remains. During the revolutionary years, the settlement was called Bartzi or Bartsi. According to the 2011 census, the population amounts to 127 inhabitants, who are engaged in land cultivation. The great writer Ioannis G. Tsatsaris was born in this village in 1934. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round.
