Kallithea (Zacha)

Kallithea is a village that belongs to the Municipality of Andritsaina-Krestenwn of the Prefecture of Ileia and is about 4.5 km from the Alfeios river. It is located on the road that leads from Andritsaina to Krestena and is built at an altitude of 535 meters. The slope where the settlement is located faces north, which justifies the limited humidity and the rather cold climate during the winter months. In the center of the village dominates the stone-built Church of the Assumption of the Virgin and the Folklore Museum John Mavroidis. The natural beauty of the place, in combination with the local events attract the interest of many visitors. In 2011 the population was about 523 inhabitants.
