Temple of Asclepius

The Temple of Asclepius is located in the western part of the walled ancient city of Alifeira. It dates back to the second half of the 4th century BC. and included an altar and a square peristyle building reminiscent of a priests' dormitory or residence. Also, its interior was divided into two parts, the pronaos, which was located on the east and the main temple on the west. The architectural findings testify that this is a very important cult temple of the classical era. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. Visiting hours: Outdoor areas. Constantly open.
