Prehistoric Cemetery of Kalamaki-Eleochori

The Prehistoric Cemetery of Kalamaki-Eleochori is a very important attraction of the area with great archaeological value. In the area, during the Early Bronze Age, a cemetery was built for an adjacent settlement that has not yet been discovered. Then, during the Late Bronze Age, the site was re-used as a cemetery and the Early Helladic tombs were transformed almost entirely into new tombs of Mycenaean architecture. The archaeological importance of the area is of the utmost value and the illegal excavation activities that have been recorded undermine it to a great extent. This point of interest is Flat and Rural. It is accessible all year round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. The site can be visited by appointment Photo source: Album of the Municipality of Dytiki Achaia: The Municipality Worth Living (2017) Odysseus portal copyright belongs to YPOA
