Ancient Thermo

The ancient Thermo is located on the plateau north of Lake Trichonida, at a height of 360 meters. According to Polybius, it was the "Acropolis of Aetolian sympathy" and the "Common of the Aetolians", which means the political and religious center of the Aetolian Confederation, which appears in the 4th BC. century. Important findings of maximum archaeological value have been discovered, mainly the pavilion of the temple of Thermius Apollo of the 7th BC. century, one of the oldest in Greece, and the discovery of the archaic civilization of Thermo, dating back to the prehistoric Bronze Age (1500 - 1400 BC), with buildings of rare architecture and historical importance. This point of interest is Mountainous and Urban. It is accessible all year round. It is accessible through public transport.
