During the Turkish occupation, in 1825, General Karaiskakis set up the famous camp of Dervekista (former name of the settlement Analipsi), with the first goal of strengthening the "Free Besieged" of Mesolongi, and then, after battles from July 25 to August 9 in Petrochori, managed to defeat the Turks of the area and liberate the entire area of Apokouros.
