The Holy Monastery of Agios Kosmas of Aetolia is located in the settlement of Mega Dendro, where Agios was born and raised. The "Saint of Slaves", as it has remained in history, was born in 1714 and the foundations of his paternal house still exist in the settlement. The monastery is built on a hill and inside the sanctuary is kept part of the relic of the Saint, which was transported in 2007 from Kolikontasi, Albania where the Saint was martyred and buried in 1779.
