Holy Monastery of Panagia Chrysopigi of Dyvri

The Holy Monastery of Panagia Chrysopigi (other names: Ano Moni or Monastery of Zoodochou Pigi) was built in the 17th century northeast of the settlement of Lampeia (old name: Divri). The founder of the monastery was Saint Joachim the Younger, and, during the Turkish occupation, it was a refuge for many fighters, while it also housed a secret school. It is decorated with unique hagiographies of 1667 and an impressive wood-carved iconostasis of 1845. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. It is accessible all year round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. Photo source: Official Website of the Holy Metropolis of Ilia
