Tetreas (Tytheus or Teftheas) River (Papeiros)

Tetreas (Tytheus or Teftheas) River (Papeiros) is in Achaia, It originates from the outskirts of Erymanthos and flows into the the village of Agios Stefanos, in the Peiros river. It has a length of 28.5 km.

This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. It is accessible all year round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.

It springs from the heart of Erymanthos, below the highest peaks of the mountain. In the upper stream, the deep, impressive ravine between Olonos (2,221 m.) and Prophet Ilias (2,124 m.) flows rapidly, keeping permanent waters very high, even in summer.

Large waterfalls are formed in the river bed and in the streams that flow into the Teuthea, from the side of the precipitous volume of Prophet Ilias.

Further down from Alepochori, the river evolves into a landscape with a gentler relief and the banks are often covered by dense plane trees, while it eventually contributes with the Peiros to the Patrons VI.PE, near Agios Stefanos.
