Founded thanks to the donation of the collector Michele Gortani, the museum in Tolmezzo documents the traditions and folklore of Carnia from the 17th to the nineteenth century, through a thematic itinerary that starts from the recreation of the rooms. Among the exhibits is a valuable collection of musical instruments, including an eighteenth-century harpsichord that belonged to the Linussio family of textile entrepreneurs. Also worth mentioning is a typical sixteenth-century conical bell engraved with the date of its casting (1586).
