The left chapel in the presbytery of the duomo displays, among other works, a large fresco saved from the destruction caused by the 1976 earthquake. Restored and mounted on a panel on the right-hand wall of the chapel, it depicts the scene of the consecration of the church, which took place in 1338 and was attended by Patriarch Bertrando of San Genesio. Among the high prelates and bystanders are monks chanting the sacred rite.
