Historical building

Eqerem Bej Vlora Building

Until 1925, it was a huge building with another smaller one in front of it, in the middle of a large park of 40,000 m2, surrounded by eight-meter high walls and with two gates in it. It was the guest house of the Vlorajs, including the harem (women's residence) and the selamlek (men's residence). And the people called this complex simply "Sarajet e Beu"

Then, at the beginning of the 19th century, the house that is still there was built. It is the residence of a well-known Vlora family. The building has two floors and the floor is covered with ceramic tiles. The building is used for the exhibition of historical and ethnographic objects.

After 1944, it functioned as a cultural center, library and museum. Today the object has been returned to the owners who use it as a private residence.
