At 800 meters. s.l.m., between Tolè and Rocca di Roffeno (near Bologna), there is a village of 1500 that, adopting the name of the first owner, is called "Ca' de' Gatti".

In this place - surrounded by the intimate and harmonious greenery of the hills, with the horizon that draws the profiles of the highest peaks of the Emilian Apennines - we created the farm La Fenice. The building, already present in the sixteenth century, has been carefully restored in respect of its original features and the historical fabric to which it belongs, thus creating a place where you can fully enjoy the relaxation offered by the contemplation of the landscape, from doing nothing by the pool or reading a book lying in the shade of a chestnut. A place where the air is clean and where hospitality is like that of the past: simple and genuine.

Our guests can reside among ancient walls, restored and maintained with care and dedication.

When it was possible we preserved the structures in their natural state, as well as we tried to recover part of the furniture, and it is in this context, rebuilt with our love and our work, that with great pleasure and hospitality we welcome you and your friends!

Our kitchen

Our kitchen, enhanced by the skill of our cook, offers typical dishes of these hills enriched by the products of the company; the pasta is all homemade and the meat is essentially our farms. All the foods we serve on the table are of our own production.

Central village "Cà de' Gatti"

The rooms are located in the ancient rural village of "Cà de' Gatti", differentiated from each other by the original architectural elements such as steps, parapets, arches etc. are all furnished in the rustic style typical of our Apennines.

These are rooms and two small apartments that, depending on the type, are equipped with a fireplace in the room, or a loft where there is a bed, or are equipped with a wooden terrace.

The breakfast offered to guests - all our products and local producers - consists of bread, biscuits, jams, meats, honey, milk, yogurt, coffee and tea, in addition to the different tarts that we bake every morning. In good weather breakfast is served outdoors.

Village in the fields "Aia vecchia"

700 steps away from the central village of "Cà de' Gatti", another building - indicated in the old place names as "Aia Vecchia" - also restored, is a more secluded residence, where there are other rooms, all with private entrance. Here too respect for the original structures has allowed to maintain unique features in each room; steps, beams, vaults etc. ; all rooms are furnished in the rustic style typical of our Apennines.
